Greed.

 The primitive traits we inherited as primates, 

instinctively says screw it or kill it,

it takes commitment to learn the rest, 

like faith and common sense, 

those that learn these traits,

suffer more than most,

they understand that the people in power, 

are the vilest deceivers of all.

You let the rich get richer & the poor get poorer,

without batting an eye?

You lie, you cheat, you lack empathy,

come on, let's say it together,

narcissistic tendencies? 

tell us, how do you sleep at night?

Is it with a smile on your face

because you only care about yourself?

You have to have a licence to watch TV,

here’s a big screw you! I don’t watch live TV,

they enable this pathetic show we call the present day,

putting dirty people on our screens,

take money off poor families.

Smile and say,

‘You watch your cake shows’

while we mess up this land and tell you how to live,

‘Here watch this show about dancers’

while we pass this law you didn’t want,

or even know existed.

On the news, you tell us pure garbage, 

like ‘we won’t raise taxes!’

Ha, I could fertilize a field with all that spew,

what bull that was, at least now the public know it too,

then you say dumb comments like ‘Don’t panic’ 

mmm, excuse me, but,

with the mass of bodies that follow you,

what did you think they were gonna do?

The greedy run this world,

while the majority are in the dust,

having to watch their kids go hungry and live in poverty,

while you go out and buy a four grand rug.

I wish we could turn the table

Then you will be made to see, just how bad it can get,

Using food banks to feed your family

Having to ask to lend a tenner so the kids have electric

You watch how all those rich folk play nice to your face,

They’ll say, ‘I got your back,’ before they run 

& leave you in the mud,

That's where you belong, but that's just what I say.
